Best Carb Cleaner
« on: December 08, 2009, 09:11:20 PM »
Hey Guy's, What is the most effective and safe carb cleaner to use without putting it in your wifes oven :) ? I have got two carbs one is mostly free using diesel, but  has some light corrosion in the bowl area, etc.

The other is a unit that I can't get the primarys out, the power piston is stuck, I believe that in your book Cliff you said it was okay to heat up some thing I think the idle tubes, does this apply for the power piston also. It is the 67 unit I have.

Could anyone chime in on what they use?

Thanks

Corrosion and oxidation is difficult to remove with any sort of "carb cleaner".

We use a bead blaster here, with ultra-fine industrial glass beads in it.  The carbs are then zinc/chromated and completely cleaned out and rebuilt......Cliff
