Can that be done? I have a late one with the fine threads & one is messed up. I wanted to try the earlier style needles with the 10-32 threads.

 Probably could be done. I believe there at an angle, so it might be a little difficult, if you do not have good drill press. I would not do it by hand though, IMHO. If you are off just by a fraction, then either you can use it as a paper weight or throw it in the garbage. ;)
