17057274 info needed

I'm currently working on a 17057274 and I am seeing two tubes I'm not familiar with. It's the two tubes in the first picture. I know the usual two other pairs are missing (I removed them temporarily).
They extend into what seems to be some sort of vent (grille) on top.
I've read a few times in Cliff's book about an extra set of tubes that are some sort of primary enrichment, but those don't seem to be that. Any help would be appreciated.

They are primary enrichment. You should have small holes on each side facing forward.

I thought about that as well, but there are no holes anywhere. Maybe Cliff can clarify this since he's running that same carb on his car ?

The 17057274 did not use primary POE, but it can be installed by drilling very tiny holes at the top of that channel, and using much longer tubes.
It really isn't needed, so really not worth the time/effort to do all the work....IMHO.....Cliff

Thank you very much Cliff. By the way, I measured the secondary POE enrichment holes and they are .061-.062" ? They are kind of large, according to the recipes in your book. Not that I think it could be a problem, just noticed that.
Frank.

Make sure you measured the inner hole and not the outer hole at the POE discharge ports.

Yes it is the inner hole.

They will be fine, that carb needs very little help anyplace, aside from good parts and slight recalibration for the application. I use the same part number on my own engine, stock aside from recalibration, quick release pull-off, and I converted it to E-choke.
