PCV to 3/8 port in the front of the Carb?
« on: March 15, 2010, 10:03:41 AM »
Cliff-
On my carb, the 17058466, there is a large port under the plates in the front. 3/8.
I'm trying to determine how to plumb my PCV.
I have a PCV in my stock valley pan.
Can I run the PCV to that port and be done with  it?
Is that the intended purpose of that port?

Thanks
James

Yep, any large 3/8" port in the front of the baseplate that shows manifold vacuum at idle will work for the PCV valve.

In most cases a large fitting at the rear of the baseplate was used for power brakes, if equipped?.......Cliff

Thanks Cliff, I plugged the rear port with a pipe plug. I have a Hydrobosot installed now... we'll see how THAT works out...

Any "best" port to use for Vacuum advance on this carb?
