Electronic Q-jet Numbers
« on: April 09, 2010, 11:31:05 PM »
Hi, I'm new to this forum.  I've read most of the posts and have already gotten lots of good information.
I have a couple of questions regarding electronic Q-jets.

Is there a reference anywhere that I could use to identify Q-jets (electronic or non-electronic)?  I have found enough info to identify year, application, etc. but not the differences between carbs.

I have three cores - #17086003, 17086004, and 17087306.  How do these carbs differ?

Given the electronic control of primary fuel metering, and idle air bleed, are there any differences in cores that matter for rebuilding?

Some will be front fuel inlet, others side fuel inlet.

Keep in mind that the ECM only controls the fuel delivery from the primary side of the carburetor.  The idle, and secondary fuel is NOT computer controlled.

The carburetors were still calibrated exactly for the application they were used on, just like earlier non computer controlledc models.....Cliff
