probably not a rare carb . But thought I might try this on a ford small block believe it or not. Always wondered about the 3 letter alpha code.

That code was used to identify what car it was used on. A specific car got a specific carb, hence why all codes are usually different. It's usually found on the broadcast (build) sheet.

what I plan on using is an intake made for summit racing [by who I don't know, maybe Wiand??] It is called the Summit stage 2 [sum-226033. It appears from all the images that I have seen to have ample material to enlarge around the rear bore are of the carb. [the stage 1 intake has little material at all] So yes indeed I will end up voiding the warranty by hogging out the top of the intake but it's all in the effort of experimentation which I feel is what its all about when it comes to my crazy idea of using a Qjet on top of a ford small block. Maybe I'll post some pictures if it all works out.  Guess I'll need to have some minimum adapter any way so the mounting bolts will work. I like the idea of a 3/4 inch wood spacer for  insulation. The original 2 barrel had a spacer from the factory and it was fairly thick so I'm hoping I'll be alright on height. The ford air cleaner used on the 2 barrel ford will fit the Q-jet with some mods.

bought an edelbrock rpm for my 351 w. set it to buddy that built my air cleaner for my 429 with the duel 3 in intake ports . he's going to tig places to bolt the quad,on and widen the top and bore out the inside for the quad to fit . it should be one of a kind . ill post some pictures when its done . should be a month or so.

I'm guessing 30 hp hell i could loose power , only the dyno will tell. fwiw
