Air bleeds?
« on: November 05, 2010, 09:50:19 PM »
I was wondering if the air bleeds restrictors you sell are for the main air bleeds or the idle air bleeds? My carb number is 17086003 0356JMX, should it have either restrictors?

We sell drive in bleeds for the .118" diameter holes, which work for many main airbleeds and also for the idle downchannel restrictions.

We sell screw in airbleeds in 4-40, 6-32, 8-32, and 10-32 as well.  Any hole that can tapped to one of those sizes can have an airbleed installed in it......Cliff

Thanks for clearing that up Cliff. My carb which is a Chevy 305 CCC Qjet doesn't seem to have the main air bleed restrictors. I would think  being an emissions carb it would have them? This is the carb I had rebuilt by a local shop and I am wondering if maybe they removed the  restrictors? This carb seems to have the idle bleeds in the main body but I can't see if they have  restrictors or not. Again I am guessing it should probably have them?

It doesn't have restrictors at either main airbleed location, but should have idle downchannel restrictions.....Cliff
