« on: May 23, 2021, 07:02:01 AM »
Bought this carb. All apart. Noticed 1 metering rod was bent so I need a new set. Calls for 45L.I have. Am I correct in thinking P-50 rods will work in this carb.? Reading I may need to go up 1 size in jets also, correct? Carb. Has 70,s in it now. Thank you for reading my question.

50P tapers from .050" to .038" and steps to .026".
I would use them in a heartbeat and with .073" jets you wont go wrong.

I sell a full tapered .045" rod for those carburetors which will provide more control than anything else you can find, plus they are new parts and not work down and flat-sided like most of the used one I see.

I run the exact same carb number on my own engine.  NOTHING will outrun it.  It's put my car in the finals at Norwalk 5 times plus two trips to the King of the Hill Race at the same event (last man standing).  I also won our local Gamblers Race the last two times I went to our local track and one night it was "box" and "no-box" running together.  That carb is not only deadly it's dead solid reliable.

I've had it on the dyno and at the track scores of times and to date we haven't found a carb of any manufacturer or from any "builder" that will make more power or run quicker in ET or MPH.  It does need help in a few places to be at it's best.

IF you want to know how to set it up to work that well PM me or call me at the shop......Cliff
