regarding secondary spring tension.

Hi, I came to wonder... when springtension is suggested, it is mentioned as i.e. 3/4 of a turn, but from where exactly?

Is it from when the spring touches the arm on the shaft, or is it from when the tension it self makes the secondaries close???

to my knowledge the adjustment is always when the spring just makes contact with the arm, you go 3/4 or so farther.

depends on engine combination,
some big blocks need more tension
so they dont open to early, my tension
was at 3/4 & open to soon, so 1/2 worked
better and eliminated hesitation as the sec.
pop open and get limited by the pull off.
3/4 is a good place to start testing,
the idea is to have least tension without bog/
hesitation/backfiring, less tension will keep the sec.
open longer at high rpm's which is critical for
performance!

that spring not only effects when it opens
but when it closes, and is directly
effected by vacuum pressure which
drops at high rpm's.
