17057262 Qjet

Is this a good carb to modify? Thinking about getting a latter model qjet and rebuilding to suit my 69 Goat. From what I've read in Cliff's book it should be a improvement over my older one.

Excellent unit, about as good as it gets for a starting point for a really nice high performance Q-jet. 

I use a 17057274 on my 455, same carb as the 17057262.

Thanks Cliff, I'll fill out a quote request  via the website for a rebuild kit.
I guess I'm going to need jets and rods as well if this carb was originally for a late model 350 engine.
would I use close to the same specs on this carb , as I did on my 4988s?(on a 400 block 30 over)

 Can't find carb number 17057276 on the internet. Haven't checked in my manuals though. If you are instead, referring to carb number 17057262, then yes, it is an 800CFM version. I believe the bump should be in the primary bores.

 Or are you referring to carb 17057274? Best way to find out is check the primary bores for the bump.
