Starting point
« on: July 10, 2013, 06:55:54 PM »
Hey,

I need to order new primary metering rods/jets because upon disassembly I either bent the rods or the PO bent them on a previous rebuild. Current rods/jets are as follows:

Carb #17058213
Primary metering rods- 40B
Primary Jets- .66
Secondary metering rods-DP

Vehicle is a 77 P30 steel bodied Step Van
Motor is a SBC350 with edelbrock performer/intake. PO told me it had a mild cam in it as well, guessing rv cam. Full length headers and dual exhaust.

The Van ran pretty well before I pulled the carb off. I am in Arizona so I am weary of running it too lean, i would rather be on the rich side if anything.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to a good starting point. I can't find 40b rods so im guessing ill have to go up to a 41b or down to 39b.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
