Marine carb on vehicle
« on: November 30, 2013, 05:57:29 PM »
Can I modify a marine carb to use on a vehicle?  If so, what mods do I need to do?  I believe that the marine carbs don't have the idle air/fuel mixture adjustments but I may be wrong.  The carb I have is a 17057282.

For reference, I am building a V8 trike with a TH350 trans and a Corvette C4 rear.
The engine is also from a boat. It is a .060 over 350 4 bolt main 9:1 compression with the largest hydraulic Crane cam I could get at the time but I don't remember the specs on it.  The heads have had extensive work (port, polish c c'd) and I am using an Edelbrock performer manifold.

Marine units will have a much richer idle and cruise system, as they were designed to run on engines with no vacuum advance.  They work fine on most non-emission set-ups without a lot of help, but may be a tad "thirsty" unless you lean them up a bit.....Cliff
