Differences between 7040202 and 7040207?
« on: October 29, 2009, 05:38:53 AM »
Are there any metering differences between these two carbs?

As far as I can determine, the jets and rods are the same; the power piston spring is the same length and wire diameter, but has 10 coils in the -207 versus 12 coils in the -202 -- this would make the -207 spring stiffer and require a higher vacuum before the PP is fully lean compared to the -202.  Are there any differences in the size of the idle feed restriction? Or anything else?

Thanks!

From what I can remember, the 207 will have more idle fuel, as they were used on "high performance" engines in that year.

Both models should be using the large main airbleed set-up.  We have a complete recalibration package for those carburetors.  When we build them here, small main airbleeds and smaller jets are installed in them.....Cliff
