Rich at idle
« on: October 26, 2015, 06:30:27 AM »
Rebuilt using Cliff kit, all seemed smooth. Can get the idle down to 650. Nice and smooth running . Had the boat out to do some trolling and the exhaust is very stinky.  And a bit of fuel sheen on the water  at the slip.

Did you set the float to the factory spec's?

Did you fine tune the mixture screws after the carburetor rebuild with the engine up to full operating temperature?.....Cliff

If you have control with the mixture screws you should be able to set the idle in range so it's not "rich".  Turn them in till the engine just slows slightly, then back about 1/4 turn till it smooths out.....Cliff
