Turn Around Time for carb work
« on: March 25, 2016, 03:07:51 AM »
The current turn-around time for full restorations/complete rebuilds is about 5-6 months, not a year or longer.

We do heli-coil installations and baseplate rebuilding with bronze bushings in 1-2 days.

Most other simple repairs like repairing leaking bottom plugs are also 1-2 days.

Marine Carburetor rebuilding is 1-2 weeks, as that is very seasonal and they don't require plating services or custom tuning in most cases.

Most other services such as custom tuning or correctly issues with a completely rebuilt carburetor are also 1-2 weeks.  That doesn't mean you can send it a carb that just got a kit installed but looks like it came from the bottom of a farm pond and get quick service.

These days about 30 percent of our work is correcting issues and replacing the crappy parts used in fresh rebuilds and restorations done elsewhere.  We really like that sort of work, nice and clean, and it's in and out of here in a week or so......Cliff
