Bottom plugs
« on: February 10, 2010, 02:45:10 PM »
Hello everybody,

I installed the bottom plugs for the primairies and the secondairies with epoxy so no problem there. But my question, under the acc. pump and besides it there are two other plugs. I didn't read anywhere they could leak so should I change them for plugs or not? And are they the same size as the primairy plugs?

Greetings Peter

I have not heard of these leaking but I guess you can check them just the same with air pressure and soapy water.

Thanks for the replies.

I didn't have plugs that were leaking but changed them in advance. I was wondering because there are 4 small plugs in the kit and 2 big ones. But if it isn't necessary then I'll leave them like this.

The plugs, correctly intalled are a permanent repair.  Never a bad idea to do all of them, if you are doing the main ones anyhow.....Cliff

We tap for 10-32 threads for the front plugs, and 7/16"-20 for the rear plugs (1969 and newer units).....Cliff
