Making my Q jet idle
« on: September 06, 2017, 11:20:29 PM »
Hello
I'm using a Q-jet on my 440 Chrysler ;). It is low compression smogger from 1978. It has a  Mopar Performance P4452993AE
Cam and Lifters, Hydraulic Flat Tappet, Advertised Duration 280/280, Lift .474/.474.

And yes it will not idle.
I heard and read that by drilling out certain idle passages you can improve the idle problem.
Would you have a picture of the exact locations where to drill? some notes as to how would be great.
I understand that this is a one shot deal so would like to do it right.

It is not a "one shot deal", so no worries there.

I would go to the home page and select "Books", and order the book that I wrote on Quadrajets.

It will explain how the carburetor works and how to make modifications to the idle and main system for non-stock applications......Cliff
