Edel #1903, Power Piston Spring Location????
« on: February 22, 2021, 12:48:47 PM »
Maybe someone will know this right off hand.

This 1903 power piston bore has a second bore at the bottom, where a vacuum channel intersects at a 90 degree angle.  This second bore is just about the same size, but slightly smaller than the diameter of the power piston spring.  The spring sort of tilts as it sets on the ledge between the bores.  Is the spring supposed to fit down into that second bore?   Anyone know?

The powerpiston spring is not supposed to fit down into the vacuum channel to the bore.
Maybe wrong powerpiston springs or incorrectly machined vacuum channel?

I appreciate the quick response!
The second bore is die-cast and not perfectly round.  I'll add a thin brass washer on the ledge to keep the spring from trying to slip in.
