New to carb rebuilding, and 4 4BBL carbs in general.. all of my stuff usually has a
17085431 carb originally on a '85 or '85 Dodge 1 ton truck with a 360 LA engine.
Originally this carb came on an 85 or 86 One ton truck with a 360.
I am tired of fighting with a Holley carb that came on this 82 Chrysler Imperial.. which has a 318 and 2.2 rear gears, and a 3 speed lock up 904 transmission. It's a 150-165HP weakingling with single exhaust.. over time I may put better exhaust on it and may swap in a 360.. but not for at least a year or so while I collect parts..
Primary usage: road trips, around town, and daily driving in the summer. Interested in Overall fuel economy, and drivability, and and in reliability urge the change from the square bore fuel mixer.
I was looking at the SR kit, and the HP kit and don't know which to choose. Being able to adjust the height of the primary metering rods, and having a selection of metering rod springs is nice. Also not having to get back into the carb when the engine change happens would be great if possible..
Assuming I don't need a high flow needle and seat, and wondering if new idle tubes, and of what size would contribute to economy and drivability?
