secondary air flap shaft looseness

I've got a 1978 Buick 800 apt carb that I'm building for my 442. I have Cliff's hp kit. My questions have to do with the looseness in the secondary air flap shaft. When I disassembled the secondary air flap shaft remains of a plastic bushing seem to have come out on the linkage end of the shaft. I can find no plastic bushing in the kit to fit this location. There is only one that is close (a white one that is split) and it seems to wide and slightly to large of a diameter. There seems to be quite a lot of play between the shaft and the top casting. I can also see how the non-linkage end would let in a lot of unfiltered air as that end of the shaft is only 1/2 round at that end. Is there a plug missing that covers this hole in the casting? Also are these ever rebushed or should I not worry about it?

The plastic retainer/bushing on the linkage end is not a replacable part.  I usually get another shaft from a donor carburetor in lieu of installing a bushing at that location.

There is a metal plug in the opposite end.  On occassion they will be missing and it needs to be replaced to keep unfiltered air out of the engine.....Cliff
