WOT throttle problem
« on: February 28, 2012, 02:49:57 PM »
typical 350 chevy- stock manifold, heads, exhaust manifolds.  it has a .060 overbore.  problem occurs when I go all the way to WOT- it falls flat and feels like its running out of gas at wot, up to it it works o.k - it is a rebuilt unit won't say who I purchased it through (not Cliff's) but it has worked well for a few years now but not sure what to do about this issue which has cropped up this fall/winter.  It is in a 74 truck with a THM 350 4X4 203 T/C.  R/V cam was installed when rebuilt, not sure if I have the specs will try to find them later.

Sounds like a fuel delivery issue.  First on the list of things to do is to "freshen up" the carb with one of our kits.  It will bring it up to par for modern fuel with ethanol, and include the high flow needle/seat assembly.  If the carb bowl still runs low or empty, look at the fuel pump, lines, pick-up in the tank, etc.....Cliff

I have been reading about your kits- is there a generic part number or do I need the carb number to order the correct one?

Kits are ordered by phone using the carburetor part number.

We are here 8am-5pm, M-F EST.  Due to call volume this time of year, you may get our answering machine.  Specify in a message that you want to order parts, and leave a good number so we can call you back......thanks....Cliff
