What Float Height for 7029240?

This was buried in my other post about leaky inlets.. but I am struggling to resolve a leaky carb and wondered if it might be my float setting of 1/4". What is the "correct" float height for a carb stamped 2940MD (I assume same as 7029240) and if it was too high, will it leak? Why are floats set different on different carbs?

Setting the float height to 1/4" will have no negative effect(s) on that carburetor number. This assumes the float is new or in good shape, as is the fuel inlet needle/seat assembly, the the fuel pressure is not too high?.....Cliff
