Service Replacement Part Numbers

Are the part numbers for the body, base, etc, the same for service replacement and original q-jets? I have what appears to be a SR 7028264 (julian date 2660) carb, but the part number stamped on the body is 7034973 and the part number on the base is 7037174. These are different numbers than what my notes say should be on an original 7028264. Either my notes are wrong, the carb's been re-stamped (why someone would create a re-stamped carb is beyond me), or parts were interchanged on SR carbs...or is there another explanation?

Picked up another 7028264 for potential use in my 68 Firebird. This time an XE with no date stamp on the base. It was pulled from a running car and looked to be completely original--covered with a thick layer of grease and grime. Funny thing, the base and main bowl had the same casting numbers as the service replacement carb I described in my previous post, 7037174 and 7034973. I thought the numbers should be 7035577 and 7036330. I'm confused....hopefully someone here can straighten me out.

 According to my manual, #7028264 should have an Air Horn #7036419, Main Body #7036330 and Throttle Body #7035577. Hope this helps!

Thanks. That's what I thought the part numbers should be. I can understand mismatched base plates and air horns, but what stumps me are the inconsistencies in the bowls. Neither the service replacement nor the XE appear to be restampted but the bowl has the wrong casting number.
