in the process of tearing down my carb and following Cliff's book. I tried to be as careful as i could but manage to pry too much and one side of the piston and is now tweaked. What do I do replace it or bend it back??

Bend it back, just take some measurements to make sure the eyelet of each arm is roughly the same distance to the bowl or other reference points.
