Racing from sea level to 4500 feet need to change anything?
« on: February 21, 2013, 12:16:09 PM »
Just wondering if anything should be changed when going from sea level to 4500 feet drag racing?  I live at 1000' so I drive alot at this elevation, but the tracks I race at are sea level and 4500.  Just trying to have a plan for when I start driving the car.  I'm still putting it together and have not even taken it apart yet to see what kind of jetting is in it, but thought about using the quadrajet instead of one of my holly's.  Always jetted up or down for each track with a holly.  Do you have to do this for the quadrajet too?  Also my carb is the one with the dual capacity pump, so maybe this can be used to my advantage, sea level leave off, and high elevation turn it on for less shot.

I'd leave the primary side alone, and tune the secondaries for the DA the day of the race.....Cliff
