Received the Q-Jet book and looked at it. WEALTH of info!
Anyway. this might be more for Cliff, but I have a 7028212 Q-Jet that came on a 68 250hp 327 stock cr was 8.75:1. I am rebuilding the engine for my Jeep Comanche and want to use 87 octane, so try for right at 9:1 cr. I am using new Genuine Chevrolet Performance Vortec heads with 1.94/1.50 valves, and 170 intake runners w/64cc chambers. I'm looking at a Howard's Cam with the following specs:
Dur-INT 259 EX269; @.050-INT 205 EX 215. Lift w/1.50 rkrs-INT .420 EX .455. Lobe Sep-112. Cntrlne-108. 1000-5000 Smooth idle, Street, Towing, good fuel economy.
I have a ProComp 2007 dual plane manifold for spread bore, and it will have headers because it's going in that jeep.
So, rebuild this Q-Jet to stock specs, or should I modify?
Thanks in advance!
