Quadrajet Problem Solving > Dialing in your rebuilt Quadrajet carburetor

Primary metering rod arm

(1/2) > >>

Ozzmann:
I've had to bend my arms down around 30-35 degree's to engage rods into the jets correctly and have control of the APT.
Is this common?

429bbf:
oz carb no and metering rod no. would make answering your question a lot easier .it seems like you have the wrong length rods in your carb.i cant remember the rod length but i think its like .200 difference. fwiw.

Ozzmann:
Carb is a 17051262 and Cliff supplied the rebuild kit including rods and jets. Rods are 44 but I can't remember if they had a letter on them.

429bbf:
oz sorry not familar with that carb no.maybe somebody else can help you.

Cliff Ruggles:
If it's a 1705X262 carburetor it uses an APT system in front of the power piston to correctly locate the metering rods in the jets.  Do NOT bend the hanger arms, use the APT system instead.....Cliff
