I have a 68 Qjet apart and I am still looking around for place to get the body pieces clean up and a bolt removed. I still need to clean the tarnish off of the hangers, jets, other brass looking parts. Can I use CLR? or is there something better?

I just did my carb and I used Pine Sol. Bought a 1.5 gallon from Home Depot and a small bucket. Used the whole 1.5 gallons of Pine Sol and added water to completely submerge the carb parts. I think I left it in for 2 or 3 days. It doesn't completely strip the gunk and carbon, but it does make it very easy to just wipe off. I was really surprised at how well this worked. It also removed any minor surface rust.

I have a big jug of that stuff o I'll give it a try. It sure does stink so it is something I have used in volume and had to air out the garage. Next time I'll put that in the backyard! A little bit for carb parts I should be okay lol.
