Carb is a 17082227. Found the baffle missing. What effect(s) would this have on the operation of the carb? Thanks.

Is this what you're looking for: http://quadrajetparts.com/rochester-quadrajet-parts-quadrajet-accelerator-pumps-baffle-for-accelerator-pump-well-p-989.html

Cliff might have one as well. Best to call the shop. :)

I have a replacement from a donor carb. I was wondering what the function of the part is and what problems it causes not being there.

Not real sure what the effects would be without it. Cliff will probably have your answer. Sorry I can't be of much help.:(

Not really needed, just separates the accl pump well from the fuel bowl and provides a small fill hole at the bottom.

Millions of units were made that didn't use it.  At most if may have been added to keep "splash" from the inlet seat from pushing some fuel out around the pump shaft....Cliff
