another toughy?

Still not the right retainer.  :P  I'm talking about the one used on early models.  This retainer came with the kit I got from Cliff.

1966 Impala.  I know it did not have the plastic retainer.

 Well I did find a 1966 Rochester carb manual excerpt for a 66 Tempest. (should be similar)

 It does not really show how to install that retainer.

 But if you'd like, I'll send you that manual section, or if I can find it the link to it.

 I think maybe Cliff could answer "how" to install it, but 1966 is older than the stuff
I am versed with.

My understanding is that this is an after-market fix, so it's not surprising you didn't find it in the manual.  Thanks for looking.
