Am I missing a spring?
« on: April 29, 2014, 11:38:31 PM »
Replaced main throttle shaft on Buick carb 29240MD to bring back to stock throttle linkage in my Pontiac.

I noticed there was no torsion spring on the fast idle lever on the primary shaft.

Is this carb supposed to have a fast idle lever spring?

Do I need one?

Thanks

Added photos.. does this style fast idle lever need the coiled torsion spring?  I don't know if I left it off or it never had one...

If it needs one, is the photo of the spring correct for this carb?  If I need it, where can I get one?

Thanks again

Hi thanks

I posted same question on PY forum and Cliff replied saying spring was not used on this carb, so I'm good to go.

Well, if Cliff says it was not used on that carb, then it wasn't. Sorry for the misinformation. I surely thought that spring was used on that carb. :(
