Where to add idle bypass air?
« on: September 02, 2014, 09:47:27 PM »

17059216 carb - where would I add the idle bypass air on this guy? I don't see the passages that I saw in the back of the book.

Haven't slapped the carb on yet, but I'm pretty sure I'll need to add some.

OK... just re-read the book. Basically I should go straight down from the holes in the main body and then grind a path.

How deep should the new passages be? Approximately the same depth as the other passages?

I could probably rig this up in a mill.

Are the holes not there?

Are those the bypass air holes? They're definitely there. Wasn't sure if they were that or for manifold vacuum.

I thought bypass air was further towards the front of the carb. (I was looking at the marked up photos in the back of the book)

Looked at one of my spare carbs, same era. YEP! You're right.

Thanks! :)
