The PY thread is pretty "old" information, and several flaws in it.
There are a LOT of different nozzles, none of which are still available anyplace that I know of?
I am probably the only one these days that has a decent supply of them, and I bought them about 3 decades ago.
In the last 11 years since going full time in this industry I have NEVER once had to drive main nozzles in deeper to cure any idle problems.
Idle fuel delivery and bypass air is the key to curing your idle issues. If you can't get good results and everything internally is on par for what you are doing then you've either missed something, miss-matched components, or something fundamentally wrong someplace.
Miss-matched components comes to mind when I read this thread, but without seeing the carb that's just a guess on my part.
I just happen to use the exact same carb number on my own engine, with a .630 lift roller cam it's flawless everywhere, and has been for many years. I've also built several hundred of these units, and not once had an idle issue with one, even with much more radical combinations that the one mentioned on this thread.
Maybe this carb is something I need to see? Most likely, I could sort out the issues with it in less time than it took me to type this.....Cliff
