i was given a carb with some pieces missing and was wondering if would be ok to use for a "practice build"? it's stamped 17085003 with 1326 jma. it doesn't have a m/c solnoid plug. the top was taken off and it's bolts are not there. the other missing things i noticed are: 3 metering rods, choke flap/screws, rod to choke, and choke spring. there could be more, but i'm not sure about all the parts that should be present. is there an exploded view of a carb that new to compare? the main body is still attached to the base plate and the throttle moves freely with little if any excessive play. it is also quite clean all the way around. the attempt would be to build it to recipe 1 as outlined in the book. once completed, i would try it out on my 400 pont. (some adapting required) and if it worked well, it could end up on a buddies 78 k10 350. neither engine is stock, but they both make about 18" of vacuum. what do you think?
