Quadrajet Leaking Like crazy between carb and intake

I did not use one of your kits, when i got the carb it came with a walker kit, and i used that. and my float is set at about 1/4 inch. so is it flooding because my pressure is too high. I think im going to get a fuel pressure regulator, should that fix it? and maybe some better gaskets?

Could be the pressure is too high. From my manual, stock float level for that carb was 15/32". FWIW

Good results start with good parts, and all the parts needed to do the job correctly. We include EVERYTHING required in all of our kits to do the job correctly, and the parts are superior to anything found in the over the counter kits. This is why I go there first, so we know that the problems are NOT related to low quality components, and either assembly, adjustment, or something fundamentally wrong with the castings, etc......Cliff

Hey guys, sadly im back, but i think i narrowed it down a bit. So i got a fuel pressure regulator and set it to 3-4 psi, but it was still flooding. I took off the air horn and ran the fuel pump to see what was happening, and it looks like the needle is not stopping fuel from coming in when it reaches float hight. it is even pushing the float far beyond the set height and lifting it out of place. I do have a return line off a duel outlet inline filter and fuel is coming through the return line. So why is my needle not stopping fuel at the right height? I tried pressing the needle down with my finger at it stopped the fuel, but it cant on its own.
