Need clarification are 44 & 44b Metering rods basic same???

Are metering rods marked 44 for the early 67 thru 70,s same metering rods marked with a suffix b after them???? Please explain the differance ??? Thak You.

 I believe the 44 is a single taper and the 44B is a double taper. But other than that, I think they have the same tip size. HTH

what has me a little confused is charts that are out there state 66 thru 70 rods say 36 thru 42 for example say earlier carbs. then next chart says 42b thru 47b are for earlier carbs also??? Can both be used on same carb.???

"B" series rods were used with the early APT style carburetors so have a very gentle taper to them.  They interchange with the standard type so no worries there.....Cliff
