17080272 q/jet on a 455 ?

Hi Cliff, I have a 17080272 carb that I have on my 350 P w/performer intake and It's working good on the 350 but I'm in the process of rebuilding a 455 w/6x4's and a perf/cam ,.030 over .My question is what should be done with the carb to make it work on the 455 ? The kit that is in it now came from you and was set up per your instructions that came w/kit for the 350 . What changes do you suggest before it goes on the 455 ? No drag race ,just a cruiser . Thanks

Did we supply jets and metering rods for the current set-up?

Solid fuel nozzles?

The carb will need the idle system set up exactly for the new engine/cam combo.  Not sure exactly what's been done to it so far, but it will need solid secondary fuel supply nozzles, secondary flap opened up per the directions in our book, quick release choke pull-off, and I'd do an E-choke if it doesn't already have one?....Cliff

The good part about the carb is the gent that rebuilt it originally has said he would be able to do the upgrade and I have all the parts/info from the kit I got from you so if I need other parts I'll give you a call and it does have an e/choke . BTW ,Is the performer intake OK for this 455 and should I leave the exhaust block off completely off this time ? Not sure if it'll open the choke to quickly with out the block ? Thanks

The Performer intake is OK to about 400hp or so.  It starts to become pretty restrictive on a 455 cid engine beyond that power level....Cliff
