Looking for gasoline resistant epoxy
« on: November 09, 2009, 09:52:17 AM »
Hello everybody,

A few months ago I rebuild my Q-jet and tweaked it a little with some help and tools from Cliff. Replaced the stops under the primairies and secondairies with the screw in hex bolts and seal it with epoxy. Because I live in the Netherlands I had to find some fuel resistant epoxy overhere and I thought I had found it. But I notice the engine doesn't start right away after a few days, turns out the fuel chamber is empty so I think the exopy I bought isn't as resistant as I thought it would be. So my question. Could somebody help me or direct my to a good fuel resistant epoxy? Thanks :)

Groeten Peter

Look on Cliff's Parts Page -

Bottom Plug Kit
Includes Grey Marine Tex & Plugs

is listed on the right column halfway down or so:

Thanks, that is what I ordered from Cliff and put into my carb. But there wasn't any epoxy included at that time and I think I choose the wrong epoxy. So I'm looking for the right fuel resistant epoxy to seal the screws with. :)

maybe there is an equivalent to to "Marine Tex" or "Devcon" up there. I guess you might need to look at a boat supply  or boat repair and ask them what is fuel resistant and if they sell it.
