What car is this linkage for ?
Marx3:
Actually it looks like they were never sealed... Didn't pull a screw though.
The baseplate has a C in a circle cast into the top surface near the rear passenger side mounting bolt hole.
I am thinking this may say "Chevy"
I have seen a couple of Pontiac baseplates that said "P" and a couple of Buick's that said "B".
I somehow overlooked that fact with '79 being the year they went from 2 to 3 screws holding the baseplate. Thanks for that :-)
Anyways, I have a 17080272 ( 1980 301 carb I think ), I was thinking I could take the throttle shaft from that one and put into a pre-79 M4 baseplate, to turn that baseplate into a "pontiac" plate.
This IS a Pontiac linkage, right?
Frank400:
Is the casting number on your baseplate (motorhome carb) is 17060558 ?
Marx3:
I'll have to check up on that.

Yes, that is the correct linkage for the 17080272 Qjet Pontiac carb. :)
Can you please post a photo perpendicular shot of the linkage? It looks "bent" to me?

--- Quote from: Marx3 on February 04, 2016, 01:07:40 PM ---I noticed that the baseplate on a 17058276 I am selling, has a hole in the front, for the third screw that came on later units, but the body does not have a threaded hole there.
I am assuming the baseplate is not the original one for this 17058276.
I am also assuming that I can use the baseplate on the this carb, with no trouble. I checked to see if the gasket sealed up well to both body and baseplate and it looks like there will be no vacum leak and all channels have passage.
Does this linkage look like something out of a Pontiac?

After looking at other similar Pontiac Qjets, I believe that may be the correct linkage after all.
Here is a 1977 Pontiac Qjet: http://www.ebay.com/itm/QUADRAJET-CARBURETOR-17057274-M4MC-1977-1978-1979-Pontiac-350-P-400-/271761910898
