First Carb Rebuild
Cliff Ruggles:
Thanks for the kind words. We love selling parts for sure, keeps the doors open, but we also take the time when needed to make sure folks get a good end result with these things. I probably spend 2-3 hours per day in conversations with folks who are having carb issues and trying to sort them out.
Many have bought cheap kits which are incomplete and have the wrong parts in them, so that is an easy fix. Sometimes it's a little more complicated, and worst case scenario the carb can always be sent here if you end up throwing the towel in.
We do a lot of that sort of thing, and actually like nice clean work that just needs a little attention in a few places to get it working correctly. These days I'll be at least 30 percent of what we do is to go back thru recent rebuilds and get them working correctly.......Cliff

I finished the quadrajet rebuild last night and installed it on my wife's 76 Stingray today. It started right up and idled perfectly! I didn't get her out on the road and try the secondaries due to heavy rains but the secondaries came in really nice with no load on the engine. I'm not expecting any problems when I do get her out for a full throttle shakedown run. Remember this was my first carb rebuild but I followed Cliff's instruction to the letter using his book and the kit he custom tailored for me based on my engine mods. I want to publicly give a big ole' Tennessee THANK YOU to Cliff!!!!! You are a PRO!!!!!

Update: Finally the rain is over and I was able to get the Vette out today. I had to make a slight adjustment (1/4 turn) on the secondary air door and man does that quadrajet sing a pretty song! It's coming in with no bog and coming in hard. Only a 1/4 turn made all the difference! I totally understand why people love these carburetors!
