I have never been a fan of the Berryman's Dip. It will clean off the dirt and grime real well, yes. But, it will leave the new fuel residue in the small passage ways. What about Castrol Super Clean? Diesel fuel?

Those would be safer for sure and definitely cheaper than Berryman's!

I've been using Purple Power & about 4 parts water in my cheap probably not really ultrasonic cleaner. When I turn the heat up to about 170 it does pretty good.

I don't like the 5 gallon carb cleaner.

Small amount of Dawn in water, in the ultrasonic cleaner for short time is nice.
If I didn't have the equipment and was just doing a single carb, I would buy carb spray or brake cleaner spray at parts store and clean with it.

After using the first three cans of spray carb cleaner on this filthy carb I knew I needed to deep soak.
