Quadrajet Problem Solving > Quadrajet Parts and Numbers
7029207
Bill Stephens:
I have a 1969 350/300 corvette with automatic transmission. It has a 7029207 quadrajet and I've bought a used one to rebuild. I have conflicting information on the 7029207. I've been told that it is a service replacement for all small block chevys over a range of years, but I've also been told that it is specifically for a 350/350 with standard transmission and needs to be modified before being rebuilt. I'm looking for definitive information before buying parts and rebuilding. Thanks.

What is the date code on yours?
Bill Stephens:
1685 on the replacement and 1308 on the car. Both are 07029207.

Welcome to CHP!
Definitely a Service Replacement as per the date code and the part number beginning with a "0". I believe ALL Qjet carbs that started with a "0", were a SR carb.
Bill Stephens:
Thanks Ethan. So do you believe it doesn't need any modifications prior to installation on an automatic? What is the difference between quadrajets for standards and automatics? I figure there must be a difference since they specify different numbers, but are they close enough to be interchangeable?
