May have screwed up my fuel bowl.

Hey all, just registered. I'm currently restoring (read = trying) a 76 Trans Am and I'm at the point where I'm digging into the carb. It's a 7044262 and was already in pretty darned good shape when I bought it.
Going by Cliff's book I came to the point where it was time to remove the idle tubes and what I think are the main jets. I'll confess, I completely misunderstood what was written in the book and used a punch to drive the idle tubes all the way down the bore. Not so much of an issue. I was able to get them out.
Then, I tried using a large flat blade screwdriver to remove what I thought were the main jets. Well the tip of the "main jet" got mangled up pretty badly so I thought ok drill it out.......
Uhhm...... was this supposed to just unscrew or was it pressed in..... what's the deal and is this saveable?
I appreciate any and all replies.

Those are the boosters and they are not meant to come out, as far as I know. The accelerator pump feeds them, I believe. The primary seats are in the bottom of the fuel bowl, they do unscrew for service.

LoL so yeah basically I have just ruined a perfectly good core. Live and learn. Ok well at least it wasn't a rare carb.
