carb body zinc chromate service
« on: July 13, 2016, 06:53:12 AM »
Cliff - in reading your "Shop news" section, it sounds like you've exited the plating business for home builders.  That's unfortunate, as you re-colored a main body / air horn for me in the past and I was very happy with the results (I built it at home using one of your kits).

If you do not offer plating services, do you have any recommended sources for the home builder?

He did for me as well, but must have a good reason for exiting that service. Supplies may have gone up?

I heard Caswell's makes a nice system, but definitely not as a meticulous job as, Cliff's work.  :(

I talked to Caswell yesterday. They say there new plating can be done at room temperature. I'm anxious to try it. Good luck.

If you like a shiny finish i polished mine with a wire wheel on a drill it looks almost chrome like. You can clear coat it after but i left mine natural and looks good.
