So, Pulled my air cleaner to get the casting number to order a rebuild kit from Cliff's, and noticed that the brass fitting that is maybe my vacuum advance was just laying on the intake. When I went to correct it, the vent hose/ canister hose on top simply slid out. I fit both back in firmly, but unsure what that happened?
Thanks!

Those vacuum fittings do pop out once in a while, after you rebuild it and clean things up, you can take a center punch and stake them if you want.

Once cleaned up you can use some Locktite I use red or green. That keeps them in place.
