Changing the tune?
« on: February 25, 2017, 04:31:58 PM »
I bought a remanufactured 1904r and missed that it says it was tuned for a 305-350. I am putting it on a 454. What needs to be don't to adjust the tune?

As it is now the carb floods out after driving just a few minutes.

Not much experience with carbs and this one is throwing me off.

Thanks!

What are your plans with the 454? Cam specs? Heads? Transmission? Gear ratio?

Can't say as I've ever seen a "remanufactured" Edelbrock 1904 to date.

Before any tuning can begin you have to get the carb working correctly in all areas.  I would install one of our kits in it first, as for sure anything commercially "remanufactured" will have very low quality internals as you are finding out.

I can spec out tuning parts as well, provided the company the "remanufactured" the carb didn't "butcher" it up internally it will be flawless when you are finished with it......Cliff
