Fuel ratio & float level
« on: May 12, 2010, 09:48:22 PM »
How much did the factory control the fuel ratio by using different float levels?
When you look at the specs. in a carb kit you see float levels ranging from 5/16 to nearly 1/2 inch.
Was that their way of using the same carb on different apps. & just giving a different number?

It's slightly more complicated than just float level.  There are different size/types of floats, different diameter fuel inlet seats, and pump output pressure(s).

All of these items effect the fuel level in the bowl, and how much fuel is delivered to the engine for each particular application....Cliff
