Idle tube removal

The tubes did not punch down without the collars so I tried propane plumbers torch with tip of a drywall screw to grab the tube with no luck, the screw wouldn't grab it. Do I need to find an ultra tiny screw to thread into the tube?

Use a .089" drill bit and drill the tubes down about 1/8" or so or just enough to get a good hold in them with a self tapping wood or drywall screw. With a little heat against the casting they will come right out......Cliff
