Does anybody know why the little T fitting is shoved down the tube behind the choke blade?? Ive have seen it numerous times.Is it there for a reason or just to confuse all of us q-jet lovers.Thanks for all the great answers i have been getting.

The checkball spring retainer "T" is put there by carb rebuilding factories to stop the user from putting the air cleaner stud in there and destroy the float assembly.
