Hello. I am planning on using this carburetor on an Olds 455 build. I believe it has 73 jets and 48k rods. I am wondering what rods I should plan on using. Engine will be .40 over, compression in the low nines, aluminum cylinder heads, dual exhaust, performer intake and mild performance cam. I have also been told this carb will be to lean at idle for my application. TIA

The 48K rods will not provide enough range of adjustment for what you are doing.  It's an excellent starting point for a really nice high performance unit but will need some help.

The specific modifications to the idle system will depend on the engine combination, CID, compression ratio and cam specs.

When you are ready to do the build call the shop and I can make specific recommendations and put together a custom rebuild kit with tuning parts to set the carburetor up exactly for what you are doing........Cliff
